Legends of Cricket – Bettor.com’s World XI
Bettor.com after much deliberation has finally decided upon its selection for the all time greatest cricketers who will form the ultimate World XI. This team will without a doubt be invincible, with each player boasting impressive statistics. However statistics alone have not been the basis of our selection for had that been the case, Brian Lara is perhaps the most deserving cricketer in a team comprising of the all time greats.
It was indeed a very difficult task for us to place certain cricketers above others. However we have excluded all those players who have played less than 50 Test matches. All the cricketers must have brought something new, something completely out of the ordinary in the cricketing arena and based on their individuality and innovation have we ranked them as the best cricketers of all times.
Without further adieu, we present to you the all-time World XI:

Sunil Gavaskar
Sachin Tendulkar
Don Bradman
Vivian Richards
Gary Sobers
Imran Khan (c)
Wasim Akram
Malcolm http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marshall-c74817
Shane Warne
Glenn McGrath
Each of these players has given their best years to the world of cricket and their absolute dominance on the field has earned them a place in the all time legends of cricket. These cricketers would make the crowd come in flocks to see them play and leave them in awe. Such is the greatness of these players who have given the best years of their lives to the sport of the gentlemen.
Looking at the individual achievements of these players, many would understand the reasons as to why they have been selected for the World XI and are the legends of cricket. Other critics might argue that a few of these players do not sit at the top of the table with other cricketers in terms of their statistics. For all those who would put forward that argument it is important for them to understand that it is not always the statistics but rather their persona on the field, their personality, their resilience, their ability to cope with pressure, their ability to intimidate the opposition.
For all these players, these words hold true and would be an understatement to the calibre and aura of these cricketers who have left a mark in the history of the game. They have completely changed and revolutionised the game of cricket. From Sir Donald Bradman, to Sir Gary Sobers, to Sir Viv Richards, to Sachin Tendulkar, to Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Sunil Gavaskar and the rest. They have all set a par for the rest of the cricketers to be able to achieve and in the process, if those cricketers achieve even half as much as these greats have done, they are considered the best in their era.
Their leader Sir Donald Bradman had ticked all the boxes that would make a cricketer one of the greatest and in the process created new boxes to tick them off as well. In the almost 6 decades that have followed, there has not been another player in the history of the game who has even come near to equalling or breaking the record of these greats, however many have come close.
Sachin Tendulkar is one such prodigy who is perhaps the greatest batsman the world of cricket has seen after Sir Donald Bradman. The little master in his road to glory has attracted much adulation on the part of his admirers.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 is another legend who gave bowling a completely different meaning. He changed it into an art and the amount of control he possessed over his swing had him nick-named the sultan of swing. His presence on the field was intimidating for the opposition, his class unmatched. Wasim Akram is without a doubt, one of the best bowlers in the world of cricket.
Having chosen the World XI, bettor.com will take our readers into the reasons why we have chosen each of our players over many others in the following articles. Stay tuned.
