Legg Mason tennis Classic 2010: John Isner reaches the third round
The American tennis ace, John Isner won the match in Washington Classic after knocking down Thiemo de Bakker, a Dutch tennis player in a total of two sets. The final match score was 7-6 (8/6), 7-6 (10/8). Isner smashed a total of fifteen aces all through the match and advanced to round number three of the hard court tournament.
Isner while commenting on the match said, "It was a normal routine match for me”.
The American Isner, after his grass court Grand Slam participation, played his next match versus de Bakker who knocked him down. He grabbed every one’s attention right after his marathon match and came to the lime light beyond any measure of speculations.
Isner will face Xavier Malisse, a Belgian tennis player in his next clash of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic tournament on Thursday for a quarter final place. The American captured his very first ATP trophy at Auckland during the month of January and as a result improved to an ATP best 25-14 in tie breakers this season; thanks to the Dutch player’s double fault to conclude the set number one and the final of Isner's fifteen aces on his third match point.
In another match, Andy Roddick also won his clash against Grega Zemlja, a Slovenian qualifier in a total of two sets. The former world number one Roddick finished off the match in a time period of eighty four minutes with a final match score of 6-4, 6-4 in the city of Washington.
"I performed the way I wanted to. I am glad that I have regained my lost form”, Roddick said. "Obviously I need to improve further however I got what I wanted out of the match”.
While commenting on the tournament, Roddick said that, “it is undoubtedly a good chance to find my form and rhythm for the summer hard court season and particularly the upcoming US Open 2010 at the Flushing Meadows”.
The Spanish tennis ace, Fernando Verdasco in his match thrashed out Michael Berrer, a German tennis player in a total of three sets. The final match score was 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8/6).
The number tenth Spaniard tennis ace who succeeded at Barcelona and San Jose earlier this season, almost lost on the fourth occasion out of his five clashes since making his way in the round of sixteen at the clay court Grand Slam French Open tournament before fighting back.
"I just didn’t lose my concentration and focus till the end of the match”, Verdasco said. "Even when I was down, all I was thinking at that time was to put the ball in and nothing else.
Verdasco, will meet Ryan Sweeting, a qualifier from the United States of America in his next match of the Legg Masson Tennis Classic championship.
"When I returned it boosted up my confidence further and as a result I started finding my rhythm”, said Verdasco.
On the other hand, Mardy Fish in his match defeated a Serbian tennis player, Viktor Troicki in a total of two sets. The final match score was 6-4, 6-3. Fish after the victory in Washington said:
"I feel much more confident than ever before. I am playing well, winning the matches and have improved my rankings as well. Now I am even able to play the way I never thought in the past. I feel like I am a totally different player now, a mature one”, he added.
Janko Tipsarevic, a Serbian player hammered down Arnaud Clement in another match with a score of 6-4, 6-0, in Washington. He will face the sixth seeded American Sam Querrey in his next round match of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic championship.
