Leggy hydrangeas this year?

Last year the blooms were beautiful. I believe I have the mophead ones. Shall I trim them back now? How much? I live in the Northeast. Honestly I don't remember when I trimmed them last year --or the year before when I had such beautiful blooms.

Tough plants to grow. I live in NE too and we never had any success with them. I think you need to live in the middle atlantic states or further south to get the best results with them.
