Question:

Legitimate "child sponsorships"?

I'd like to participate in a monthly sponsorship for a child. Which organization is the most helpful in getting a larger percentage of the money to the child?

I'd prefer to maybe sponsor a child in the USA if possible but any country will do.

Is there certain age requirement? I'll be 19 next week.

  1. Build the Future USA has child sponsorships available for children in Mexico and South Africa.  The nonprofit organization is in the US for tax purposes but supports nonprofit organizations that we know personally and work with on a regular basis.

The children who are sponsored are personally known to us, we chose them because of their level of need.  100% of your donation goes to the support of the child.

There is no age restrictions to be a sponsor and you're never to young to start giving to charities, it's a good routine to start when you are young.  You are blessed when you give generously and with a happy heart.

  2. Consider the Christian Children's Fund.  They have been around for a long period of time and are reputable.
