Question:

Lehigh Valley PA - Where's the best breakfast place???

My eleven year old and I have a standing Saturday morning 'mom & me' breakfast date. We love Tic-Toc in Palmer Twp (Easton) and the Moravian Bookshop Cafe.

Also heard Billy's Downtown Diner in Bethlehem is excellent. Any other suggestions? We are up for anything from snooty-tooty "eggs benedict served on china"-type places to down-home greasy spoons that serve grits and lard biscuits.

Just as long as it's great!

  1. I used to work in Hellertown, and i would always drive past the Waffle House...never stopped in so i can't tell you how it is there, but i always wanted to lol...If your coming from 78 and turn right towards Hellertown, its right there on the right maybe a block away from the highway..can't remember what the street is called, but its the main street going through Hellertown and Bethleham....Let me know if its worth a trip up there...i'm about 45minuts away so i never got around to it

  2. I love Johnny's Bagels on Main St.

plain bagels with strawberry cream cheese is AMAZING!

Moravian Bookshop is great too! The stuff in there is so neat!

  3. How about Denny's?

  4. Bethlehem Diner, just off Airport Road and Perkins at Rt. 191 and 22 or off Union Blvd., W. Bethlehem, or Top Diner on Union Blvd., Allentown,  were always our favs.

  5. The Whitehall Diner and City View Diners are both wonderful! For breakfast, I would recommend the City View as they offer a huge selection of your usual breakfast standards - eggs, pancakes, French toast, etc. The food is also very reasonably priced (read: cheap!). Any time I've ever gone there, the staff is very friendly and courteous, which I think says something these days. Plus, the place has the true diner feel - complete with chrome!
