Leicestershire beat Glamorgan by 89-runs in County Championship Division Two
Leicestershire defeated Glamorgan by 89 runs in their County Championship Division Two match, at Grace Road, Leicester in England on Monday. Chasing 338 runs for victory, the visitors were bowled out for 248 on the final day of play.
The captain of the home team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Boyce-c1924 put together 45 runs for the first wicket, before both were dismissed for 23 and 22
runs respectively.
Wickets started to tumble after the fall of the openers and the hosts were 156 for eight at one stage. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Taylor-c1655 played well for his 45 runs, but he missed out on a half-century, as he was dismissed after that.
However, seasoned campaigner Claude Henderson batted superbly for his team. He scored an unbeaten 80 runs off 160 balls with the help of 11 fours. He deserved a century, but ran out of partners at the other end.

After a good effort in the field by the Glamorgan bowlers, the team expected the batsmen to post a decent first innings total. However, that didn’t happen, as the visitors were bowled out for just 146 runs.
Alviro Petersen, who is the opening batsman and captain of Glamorgan, played brilliantly for his team. He was the only player to challenge the Leicestershire bowlers, scoring 91 runs for his team. The South African Test player struck seven fours and one
six in his innings, before getting out. Other than Petersen, only three batsmen managed to reach double figures, with a best score of 11 by Ben Wright.

Cosker yet again caused a lot of problems for the Leicestershire batsmen and finished with four wickets in the second innings.
Glamorgan needed a special effort from their batsmen in order to win the match, but they failed to do so. Only http://www.senore.com/Cricket/William-Bragg-c2795 looked good as well,
as he scored 43 runs but failed to carry onto the start he got.
Right-arm off-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jigar-Naik-c1694 made most of the fourth day pitch, taking five wickets in the final innings and guiding his team to a convincing victory.
