Leighinmohr looking to win at Downpatrick – Maiden Hurdle Preview
Leighinmohr is looking to complete his hat-trick at Downpatrick racecourse on Wednesday, March 7 by winning Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle.
In the €6,900 race of 2m2f50y distance, the I. R. Ferguson-trained bay gelding will run against 8 competitors including Candeeiro, Carsonstown Bridge, Flamenco Prince, Glimmer Star, Indian St Jovite, Seriatim, Tirmoyle and Quigleys Express.
The high-stakes event will commence at 2:15 (GMT). Each of the runners is ready for the big action. At this point, Leighinmohr seems to be above all in terms of talent and strength.
Taking a glance on the career chart of the young gelding, it is visible that the five-year-old dashing horse possesses unbeaten record.
Since making his debut in February 2011, the brilliant runner has won both of his outings to date. Starting with a fabulous victory from Bennettsbridge, he bagged his second triumph at Musselburgh track on February 16, 2012.
Leighinmohr has earned £1,625 to date. The gelding’s excellent performances in both of these starts have exposed his inherent skills fully.
At the moment, the novice racer is carrying plenty of form which is a prelude of his promising future. When he lands into Downpatrick today, he will surely struggle for completing his hat-trick.
The gelding’s chances to finish first are as high as 90 percent provided he manages to perpetuate his momentum.
From Leighinmohr’s competitors, Seriatim and Quigleys Express are likely to demonstrate decent runs today.
Seriatim started his career in October 2010. Though the R. T. J. Wilson-trained gelding has been winless to date but he has exhibited some outstanding performances.
The sever-year-old talented runner finished third each in his last two outings. He is likely to do well at Downpatrick today.
Quigleys Express made his debut on February 18, 2012. After grabbing fifth spot in his maiden race, Paul John Gilligan’s bay gelding finished sixth in his last outing on February 22.  He will too perform well today.
By and large, this is going to be an awe-inspiring event. Leighinmohr will have to fight with his back to the wall to thrive. Let us see how he struggles for success. Good luck to all the runners.
