Lemon Minnie, a leading entry for the Betfred Mobile Sports Maiden Stayers Trophy at Nottingham
The Betfred Mobile Sports Maiden Stayers Trophy will be held at Nottingham over 680 metres flat on Monday, 14th May. Taking part in the race are Fabulous Shanty, Lemon Minnie, Filey Mafia, Bouncing Glory, Jungleland and Slick Salamanca. The prize
money set for the race is £150.
The most promising entry for the event is Lemon Minnie, Ballymac Maeve’s three-year-old black daughter out of b***h, Lemon Abbey. She scored second in his seasonal debut in a Grade A3 500 metres flat on 2nd January at Nottingham. The 11/10 favourite
took 31.12 seconds to conclude the race.
The race was won by Jumeirah Raquel who timed the distance in 31.04 seconds.
Her first success of the season was in the Grade A3 Greyhound Sporting League – Leg 2 on 10th February at Nottingham over 500 metres. She clocked the track distance in 30.98 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Tanhill Rose, by 1 ¼ lengths.
Pakefield Tom, the 2/1 favourite of the race, ended third.
After missing the next three races, Lemon Minnie was drilled over 680 metres at Nottingham on 24th March.
On 31st March she won the race right after the training session. She took 42.98 seconds to settle a Grade S2 680 metres flat at Nottingham. It was a narrow victory as the 11/4 joint favourite runner up, Sparkling Tammy, was at a short head’s difference.
Mill Luciano ended third while the other joint favourite, Business Fantasy, finished fourth.
She monopolised the very next race too by completing the 680 metres trip at Nottingham on 7th April in 42.69 seconds. The 7/4 favourite winner of the race led the runner up, Pats Lad, by a staggering 9 ¾ lengths.
The race that was to turn into her seasonal hat trick resulted in Lemon Minnie finishing third. She took 43.22 seconds to settle the 680 metres of the Carling Maiden Stayers Trophy on 16th April at Nottingham.
Lemon Minnie’s most recent race and win was in a Grade S1 680 metres flat on 21st April at Nottingham. She reached the other end of the wire in 42.82 seconds and led the runner up, Fabulous Pin, by 42.86 seconds.
On 5th May, Lemon Minnie got drilled over 500 metres at Nottingham and completed the task in 30.93 seconds.
Her recent success coupled with training enhances her chances further for the race tonight.
