Lemon Velvet to take down Bansha Mo in the Coors Yorkshire Oaks - Final
Qualifying as the finalists of the Grade OR Coors Yorkshire Oaks speaks volumes about the true potential of the contestants. The total prize money of the race is £1,000. It will be held at Sheffield on Tuesday, 13th November. The 500 metres flat
race has attracted Lemon Velvet, Bansha Mo, Stepaside Glenis, Demesne Sparkles, Blackrose Mia and Blackrose Eve.
The first trap has been drawn by, Lemon Velvet, while racing in black and white tonight will be, Blackrose Eve. The joint favourites for the race are, Bansha Mo and Lemon Velvet.
Bansha Mo has been allotted the second trap for the race tonight.
Bidding for a hat-trick tonight through the chance is the three-year-old blue b***h, Lemon Velvet. She has been racing since the last three seasons, and has accumulated experience over multiple race courses which include Shelbourne Park and Newcastle.
The A. McPherson trained had her last five outings at the open level out of which she won thrice.
The blue b***h landed the Grade OR williamhill.com Angel Of The North Oaks Trial Stakes on 29th September, 2012 at Newcastle over 480 metres.
She broke from the first trap, and led from the third location, settling the race in 28.55 seconds. Losing the race by the margin of 3 ¾ lengths was, Droopys Hope.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Cashen Sniper.
Wheres Pedro’s daughter then won the Betfred Eclipse Trial Stakes on 29th October, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres. The third trap went away with the winner’s prize money after making the transit to the other end of the wire in 29.51 seconds.
Not taking long to select the leading role in the race had her winning by amazing seven lengths.
Lemon Velvet then dominated the first heat of the Coors Yorkshire Oaks on 6th November, 2012 at Sheffield over 500 metres. She took off in a red jacket and had the fate of the race sealed in 28.93 seconds. The early pace gave her the provision
of leading the final quarter.
The red box for tonight will help her stay away from getting crowded or baulked.
She will need to keep an eye on Bansha Mo.
