Which would be better to clean a humidifier with

lemon juice

or

vinegar?

  2. Vinegar has mild corrosive qualities, because its a mild acid. Lemon juice also has acidic properties, but its not as effective as a cleaner, as vinegar.  The only advantage to lemon juice is that it leaves a lemony sweet smell.  Make sure you only use distilled water on that humidifier.  If you see mineral build up, its because you're using tap water.  Drinking water, in lieu of distilled water, is not a good substitute; drinking water is mixed with salt to improve on its taste.

  3. A high % acidity white vinegar.  If it is to keep the nasty things at bay you want at least a 4% strength.
