Lemon zest in cheesecake recipe??

i ever used lemon zest. Wont it be like lemon skin chunks in my cake?

should i chop it up finely? please help!

  2. You use a fine grater and scrape the outside peel of a lemon to get lemon zest. No chunks in your cake if you do this.

  3. You must absolutely not use a zester, but instead use a grater or Microplane.  Be careful not to grate in any of the white pith.  Pith is bitter.

Instead of chopping it you should use a very good grater to grate the lemon or if you have "light hands" other wise known as you have good control over your hands you can remove the lemon zest with a paring knife or with a peeler. If you chop it it would end up in chunks in your cake because no one can chop anything very very finely.
