My daughter and her friend (both are 8) want to set up a lemonade stand this weekend. They are excited about earning a couple of bucks!

I haven't done that in years but I think it's a great idea. Any ideas to make it unique?

  1. Being an electrician, I would run a drop cord out to the stand and put up some rope lights and plug in a cd player to attract attention. Once people look over there to see what the lights and sound are all about and see two little girls giving them puppy- dog eyes, they HAVE to buy a glass! ;)

  2. My daughters friends son set up a lemonade stand last year .They used the balloon idea someone already suggested and the music too.The Mom is very creative and got a white paper table cloth and drew big lemons whole with green leaves on them and put some of her house plants around and  a few chairs they put it under a shade tree and sold small glasses for 25cents medium for 50 cents and Large for a dollar He had it for two days setting it on the side of their house where cars traveled downtown He took in about 30 dollars on Saturday and on Sunday when people were walking to Church he almost got 40 dollars.I was tempted to put one up myself (smile)We have allot of retired people in our town and they just love to see a youngster trying to make a buck mowing lawns whatever. They are very supportive.

you can get much information in this website, If you will check anyone blue link in website.

  4. I like CSSW's answer...my daughter is 10 and for the past 2 years has had a lemonade stand and sold cookies as well and has always done well.  She even runs a deal of 50 cents per cookie or 3 for a dollar.  She makes signs and balloons sometimes to attract attention.  Tell the girls good luck!

  5. uhh when you pour lemonade into the cups put a lemon wedge on it

    -decorate the cups

-how about get two lemonade glasses for ????

  6. I would offer a shot of Vodka with each lemonade for an extra $2.00.

    They'd clean up!

  7. If you are sitting with the 8 year olds and an adult come up to buy a cup of lemonade, when the girls aren't looking, slip some Vodka into the cup you are selling.  That is unique!

  8. Make the lemonade from syrup- it tastes so much better! I use the one in the Joy of Cooking, but the site below has a recipe that is similar (I swear I'm not that Elise- funny coincidence though).

Also, they could offer sparkling water or plain if they use syrup- lots of fun.

Finally, what about some kind of environmental aspect- cardboard cups instead of plastic or styrofoam, maybe?

    Sounds like a good time!

  9. Maybe sell fruit punch as well or you could let them bake some cookies and sell those too!  Let them make a cute poster to post somewhere on the street.  I hope they have fun!
