Length of labor....??

is there a way to tell If you're going to have a long or short labor?

there is no way, most first labors are around 12-20 hours, but mine was 40!!!

Well I have read that they get shorter as the go on, until #5 then they can go up in duration again. I'm not sure I believe that myself, but my second was 4 hrs shorter than my first labor. I wonder what will happen with #3?

Nope it's the luck of the draw. You can't even go by previous pregnancies.

Nope...Every person and every delivery is different.

Nope none at all. After you r first one sometimes they will tell you that your next ones will be quite quick but that just depends on the person. First one there is nothing you can do. Sorry.

no...they say that first timers can go for a long period of time

(15-20 hrs), but I went 34 hours, and then had to have a c-section...so no one really knows...Best of luck, and what they say is true...you will forget labor once you see that beautiful face!!!
