Wire transfers through financial institutions only occur during regular business hours.  When you set up a wire transfer, it won't actually "leave" the financial institution until it has been processed by an administrator.  Then it will take a couple days in transit.  Finally being creditted to the receiving account the day that is received through the wire service.  Give it at least 3 - 5 business days.

If you need to transfer money much quicker than that, use Money Mart.  Their offices are all over the US and Canada, and the transfers are almost instantaneous.  Their fees are a bit higher though because of this quicker service.
