Lennox Lewis: David Haye should collide with the Klitschko’s on his return – Boxing news
Lennox Lewis, one of the legendary pugilists in history of international boxing, rattled the media by his claim that David Haye, Briton heavyweight, might make a return and also put forth a piece of advice that he should not immediately on his return take
on any of the Klitschko brothers as it will be a devastating decision.
Whether the claim is right or wrong it does not matter much, the only facet to consider now is that if he returns what will happen to the heavyweight division of boxing. Will David go head on against any of the two Ukrainian brothers in order to take revenge
or will he devastate the surging young brawlers making their way up in the heavyweight division.
All these predictions and hypothecations are currently pre mature and we have to wait until and unless the Briton himself makes any comment regarding the former undisputed heavyweight Lewis’ claim.
Lennox in an interview at the Laureus Sports Awards said, "David should come out of retirement. He should come back, but he should not think about the Klitschko’s right now."
Lewis was of the view that David should take on other number one contenders and should exchange some fists with heavyweights who are creating havoc in the division. Lennox said that he is not throwing this idea because David cannot fight it’s because in
this way he will be able to gain a reputation that yes he is the number one and undisputable contender to take on any of the Klitschko duo.
Lennox, the brawler who just lost two bouts in his illustrious 44-brawl career said, "He should beat a couple of other people, so people actually think: 'yeah, you know, he can do it this time, he can beat a Klitschko. There is a lot of money for him on
the table and that is important for any fighter. All he has to do it is jump in there against one of the Klitschkos and take it, but he should have a couple of different fights first."
David Haye, infamous as the Hayemaker, retired after his bout with Wladimir Klitschko, a brawl in which he lost his WBA Heavyweight title. After that clash, David wanted to make a comeback but was not able to do so. David contacted Vitali and underwent a
series of unsuccessful negotiations.
After that, David decided to remain outside the squared ring and Vitali, the current WBC heavyweight champion, will defend his title against Dereck Chisora on February 18, 2012.
