Lennox Lewis: Dereck Chisora can startle the world by kayoing Vitali Klitschko – Boxing news
Lennox Lewis, the most respected and feared names in the boxing world, one of the only two brawlers who secured a win over Vitali Klitschko and the current WBC heavyweight champion, is confident and optimistic of the fact that Dereck Chisroa will rattle
Vitali and grab the belt off his waist but still it will be a tough barricade for the 28-year-old young pugilist to conquer.
These comments were made by the former great in an interview when he was asked to share his views on the upcoming February 18, 2012 clash between Derek Chisora and Vitali Klitschko. Lennox has been in the ring against Vitali and his win over the Ukrainian
in 2003 was not considered an emphatic one.
The bout between Vitali and Lennox ended when two heavy duty punches substantially injured the left eye of Vitali which eventually led the ring side physicians to end the brawl in favour of Lewis hence a technical knockout win. The match continued for six
rounds only. At the moment when the fight was being awarded to Lewis each and every boxing fanatic, critic and analyst unanimously said that Vitali had the upper hand all the time.
Even when the scorecards were checked Dr Ironfist was seen winning. It is this encounter and experience that has made his comments or analysis mean too much to the boxing fans. According to his mind set it will only take one or two huge, well aimed fists
to Vitali’s chin and he will get a bit clumsy, hurt or sluggish.
Lewis enlightened that all it takes is a punch or two on the right spot and you get your opponent where you want in accordance with your game plan and Chisora can do that after all he is also a heavy weight and is striving hard to prepare himself for his
career’s most difficult and prized brawl.
Lennox commented “Vitali is very good but Chisora has a chance. He is a heavyweight. All it takes is one punch on the chin to win. I always say if you walk into the ring you have to get wet. If he [Klitschko] is in the fight, in the ring, and he gets punched,
there is a chance that he might get hurt or knocked out. It will be an interesting fight.”
These prestigious words meant too much to the young Del Boy who responded by saying, “It’s good to hear those words from a great fighter like Lennox. He understands that anyone can get hurt with a good punch in the ring, no matter who you are, and one good
shot is all I need to topple Klitschko.”
Let’s hope that Dereck keeps his idol Lennox’s word and gives his all best to accomplish an eighth round knockout win over Vitali at Olympiahalle Arena situated in Munich, Germany.
