Lennox Lewis reckons David Haye has not crossed the limits – Boxing news
Lennox ‘The Lion’ Lewis, who is the former undisputed world heavyweight champion, has defended the current WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye on his pre-fight actions and statements.
The Hayemaker, David Haye, has been criticised a lot for his statements which he has passed on in the pre-fight press conferences against the IBF, WBO and IBO world heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko.
The brash Londoner, Haye, claimed he is going to knock off Klitschko’s head and later on in another press conference, he will execute Klitschko in the most brutal way. He also made t-shirts depicting him holding Klitschko’s head.
However, the British-Canadian boxer, Lewis, thinks Haye has still not crossed the line. He told the media everybody has his own limits and according to him, this is all boxing talk.
He added if people are going to ask any mother out there she definitely will say this is wrong but if people ask the same question from any punter, he would say it is great.
Lewis said, “I haven't seen him really take it too far yet. Everybody has got their level where they draw the line. If you asked 100 mothers out there they would say he took it too far but if you asked the normal punter out there they'd say 'that's great
- did you see that?’”
Lewis stated talking about someone’s family is something one can say going too far but otherwise it is all boxing talk and nothing else.
“So everybody has their level of what is too far. If David said something about his family or something then yes, that would be taking it too far. But stuff like 'I'm going to take off your head' is just boxing talk,” he said.
There is hardly any time left now in the Wladimir-Haye mega heavyweight showdown which is going to take place in Klitschko’s native country in front of an anticipated crowd of over 60,000 people.
Let’s see who wins this bout, as it will definitely be remembered for the ages to come.
