  1. Larry Holmes

  2. Larry by unanimous decision.

  3. Tough call. Both were unbelievably underrated for some reason. Lennox had a great jab and huge power. Holmes had a huge jab and very good power. Both were extremely smart fighters. I would say it depends on who felt better that night. probably go with Lennox but it would be a great one.

  4. without question larry holmes, any boxing purist knows this !!!

  5. I've always liked this fight because I think that,  outside of ALi and Louis, these two are the best of the heavyweights.  If I had a top 12 they would probably be 3 and 4.  Both rank high because they would suffer fewer losses on the list of 12 than most outside of Ali and Louis, both of whom would beat them all.

Believe it or not, both Lewis and Holmes have the best chance of beating a prime Ali or Louis.  Many underestimate him but Lennox Lewis is one of the hardest punchers in division history.  Forman is clearly harder and Louis is a "Better" puncher, meaning that he makes better use of his tools.  He's not a harder puncher.

Big guys were fodder for Holmes.  He has proven that he could take a pounding from stronger opponents.  Lennox, however, his no ordinary big guy.  He is the one big guy who has proven he can fight.  If he hurts Larry he has the tools to finish him.  Larry, however,  can prevent this.

Lewis' size advantage would not trouble Holmes.  If you stand them face to face you would see that the numbers make the difference seem much greater.  6'5"/245 seems much bigger than 6'3.5/215.  When you're talking about heavyweights,  its not so great a difference.

Larry would move in the early rounds.  Lennox would be forced to stalk but Larry would keep him off balance.  Lewis could keep a cool head and Larry might make a mistake in trying to rattle Lennox' cage.  Holmes would win the first 3 rounds.

Larry becomes settled in his game plan until he learns that Lewis has a plan of his own.  Lennox attempts to off set Larry's jab with his own but he can't match Larry's speed.  Still he takes some of the luster out of Larry's chief weapon.  It's not enough to keep Larry from doing what he does best.  After 8 rounds Holmes is still ahead on the cards.

Lennox hurts Larry in round 9 but Larry survives without going down.  Lennox is beginning to slow down.  Going into the 11th Lennox is told he better make something happen because he's behind on points.  He presses Holmes but they are not even in strength due to the fatigue factor.   Lewis had the clear advantage earlier when Holmes wisely kept his distance.

Lennox wins the 12th round but it is not enough to take the win.

    Holmes by decision in 12.

If the fight were scheduled for 15 rounds Holmes would win by TKO in 14.
