Lenson Peter, an interesting newcomer in Sittingbourne’s John Smiths Kent Derby - Heat 3
Lenson Peter is geared up to make his debut on a winning note at Sittingbourne. The juvenile moved really well in trials, establishing himself as a strong candidate for the John Smiths Kent Derby - Heat 3, set to take place on Sunday, August 5th.
A. Collett’s charge recently made a wonderful effort in two trial races, winning by a couple of lengths on both occasions. In his latest trip, the son of Ballymac Maeve covered an area of 480 metres in 29.16 seconds.
An improvement is certainly required to win a race of this nature, but it is hard to overlook his chances especially after the way he ran recently. Others in the line-up are:
Jazz Apollo, Bandicoot Ripley, Kingsmill Super, Pams Tomjo and Rockview Royal. Like all other first round heats, it carries a cash prize of £150. The officials will kick off the proceedings at 20:29 GMT.
Jazz Apollo boasts the strongest profile. The M. Wallis-trained tasted big race success in this event last term. The brindle dog is once again coming with a lot of expectations, but everyone will have to wait and see how he handles the situation. Westmead
Hawk’s son was third in his previous trip at Hove.
Bandicoot Ripley might find the pace a fraction too warm this time. The white and black dog has been unlucky over the past few weeks, as he was third in his previous two outings at Coven.
Pams Tomjo brings plenty of early speed to the table. The black dog is in good form these days, but needs a slice of luck to taste success. He narrowly missed the gold medal twice at Hove lately.
Rockview Royal’s prospects of a medal are very much in the balance. Kingsmill Super burns up the calories early doors, and if he fails to get an initial lead, his chances will be evaporated.
Lenson Peter will be a surprise factor, as anyone rivals hardly know his game. He is facing a very strong opposition, but still one should not underestimate the class he possesses. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
