The Madrid based club, Rayo Vallecano, are flying high in the Primera Division this season. Their back-to-back wins in 10 days in the league have taken them to the 7th position in the table.
On the 3rd of this month, Vallecano caused a huge upset by defeating Malaga CF 2-1. This team was responsible for Malaga’s first home defeat in the season.
Now, one of their young strikers, Leo Baptistao, has been on fire lately. The youngster has got his eyes set on reaching 10 goals for his club in the Primera Division this season.
The Brazilian has already scored five times in the current campaign. He contributed one goal to his team’s 3-2 win against Celta Vigo on the weekend and has revealed his intention of wanting to score more goals for the club.
“I have five goals and have to add more.”
The striker went one step further and declared that his target as of now is 10 goals by the end of the year.
“I want to have scored roughly 10 goals by December.”
The 20-year-old also reflected on the dream start his team has had so far this season. He admitted that the 16 points Vallecano have managed to accumulate till now is an impressive achievement and all they want to do right now
is to be up there with the best.
“To have 16 points at this stage is amazing. We have the dream of being up there with the best and and we will continue working.”
Moreover, the Vallecano forward has also commented on the approaching match with Real Sociedad, who are also on decent form. He stated that their main priority is to win that game since it is very important.
“The first thing is to think about winning against Real Sociedad in the next game, which will be an important one.”
