The Chief Executive Officer of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe reckons the unbeaten American prospect Jessie Vargas is one of the best young combatants out there.
The 22-year-old, Jessie Vargas, has never been defeated in the ring as he has won all of his 16 professional fights thus far including 9 by the way of a knockout. Moreover, Vargas is a part of Mayweather Promotions. Therefore, Ellerbe knows him very well.
The undefeated rising star, Jessie Vargas, is set to face the hard-hitting Josesito Lopez on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Staples Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be Vargas’ first Home Box Office Pay-Per-View fight and Ellerbe thinks he will
come out as a winner.
The chief claimed in front of the media that Vargas is going to win on September 17. Ellerbe stated Mayweather Promotions has known Vargas since long and therefore knows what he is capable of doing.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “In our [Mayweather Promotions'] eyes, Jessie Vargas is the best young fighter in all of boxing. September 17 will be his coming out party. Jessie has been part of the Mayweather Promotions family every since he
was a young kid.”
“I am personally very proud of him for his accomplishments thus far. Come September 17, all of you will see what Jessie Vargas is capable of,” Ellerbe added.
September 17, 2011 has been officially announced as the biggest night in the boxing universe by the Fight Card as people are going to see three title fights on the night which include Erik Morales vs. Lucas Matthysse, Jessie Vargas vs. Josesito Lopez to
Star Power: Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz.
Ellerbe commented on the fights and revealed he has never seen a card like this before in his 30-year career.
Ellerbe remarked, “I have been around boxing for 30 years and I cannot remember a card that is as tremendous as this one. From top to bottom, this card is stacked with great fights.”
