Once again, AC Milan have managed to hold on to one of their star players after Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that they will not be signing the Brazilian defender this summer
AC Milan love to play tricks on Paris Saint-Germain. First it was striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901 who, after accepting a move to Parc des Princes this winter, chose to stay with the Lombardi club. The Brazilian youngster wanted to join the Parisian side but Milan
owner Silvio Berlusconi intervened and the move broke down.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 was recently linked with a move to the cash-laden side who had even reached an agreement with the player. PSG were willing to pay 45 million euros for the player’s services and initially, it seemed that Milan had yielded.
However, despite their economic situation, Milan have chosen not to sell the player at any cost.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leonardo-c22056 said that when Milan started to show their hesitance, he decided to conclude negotiations with the club.
“With the big clubs, it happens often. It does not matter. Now we will move on to other issues. With player, we agreed on everything. Will we look for another central defender? We’ll see.”
Once again, PSG will embark on the search of signing a big name player who can match the club’s ambitions.
PSG reportedly offered Thiago Silva a salary of 9 million euros per annum and the player agreed to it.
Now, AC Milan will be needing to offer Silva a lucrative deal as well and keeping the player would certainly cost them a lot. If their financial woes are to be given some consideration, keeping Silva will be an expensive option and could also prove to be
a bad decision.
Already, the player’s agent has asked Milan to increase the player’s salary to what PSG had offered if they really want the player to stay.
Silva has no shortage of suitors. A few months back it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 who were keen on signing him.
“Let’s see if Milan are possibly ready to renew his contract in light of his current market value,” said the agent.
Though PSG have failed to sign Silva, it is clear that players have started looking at the club as a great option in both financial and sporting terms.
