CSKA Moscow head coach, Leonid Slutsky, has hailed Anzhi Makhachkala’s latest signing, Willian, saying that the Dagestani club have signed a quality yet expensive player from Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Russian tactician was of the view that Anzhi paid over the odds to get the services of the 24-year-old.
The Brazilian winger, who widely impressed during Shakhtar’s UEFA Champions League’s group stage match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC at Stamford Bridge, moved to the Russian Premier League club for a reported 35 million Euro transfer fee.
Though the Dagestani club are yet to confirm the duration of the contract signed with the prolific attacker, Willian reportedly signed a long term deal at Dynamo stadium (Makhachkala) that will keep him in Makhachkala until 2016.
Slutsky was of the view that Anzhi signed a brilliant player during the ongoing winter transfer window and went on to admit that he would have signed the player himself should the Ukrainian Premier League club lower their asking
price for their prized asset.

Speaking on why Pavel Mamayev’s potential move to Manchester United broke down during the winter transfer window, Slutsky revealed that the Red Devils talked to the defensive Russian midfielder’s representative.
“I do not speak until a conclusion because the negotiations were between the player and the club. As far as I know, Manchester United were interested in his services. Mamaev had a great season and I think his hard work has not
gone unnoticed by British Scouts.” he concluded.
Slutsky went on to admit that he is happy with the squad at his disposal and assured the fans of fighting for the league title until the last match of the championship.
