The Russian tactician admits to the difficulty playing the upcoming UEFA Champions League tie against Jose Mourinho’s men and lamented Igor Akinfeev’s absence.
In the upcoming UEFA Champions League action, CSKA Moscow will play the return leg against Real Madrid at Santiago Barnebeu. The Koni managed to draw the first leg 1-1 against Los Blancos at Luzhniki stadium.
Leonid Slutsky, the Armeytsy head coach, has admitted that the Moscow-based club need to pass a stern test to better the Spanish outfit this time around despite the away leg disadvantage.
He went on to praise Los Blancos, admitting that Real are a great club with a terrific squad. Slutsky revealed that he has a lot of respect for the Madrid-based club’s head coach, Jose Mourinho.

“Real scores a lot of goals even they play without key players. To play against them at their hiome will be a spectacle. They have very quick players. So, we need to be very sharp in defence and try not to give them enough space.
“It’s way too difficult to stop them from scoring but we will try to get an away goal. A few teams can perform at a high level with a variety of tactical manoeuvres. Moreover, they have some of the best players. However I still
believe in miracles.” The Russian Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Slutsky admitted that he has gathered necessary information ahead of the Champions League encounter. However, he refused to reveal the full tactical scheme before the match and assured the fans of fighting until the final whistle.
