My leopard gecko is 3 months old and 6 inches long, he eats 3/4 inch crickets, (5-6 a day) And I dust 2 of them daily with a fully balanced leopard gecko formula, is this good.

  1. its good only if your gut loading all the crickets as well. if your not gut loading the crickets the dusting is just a step above doing nothing at all . gut loading + dusting = healthy gecko

  2. No. Leopard gecko formulas are basically just multivitamins, Sure, It's good to use a couple times a week, but to prevent calcium deficiency, you need to dust ALL his food with pure calcium powder 5 times a week, and 2 times a week dust his food with calcium powder w.D3. Also, keep a shallow dish of pure calcium in the cage at all times. Not giving any calcium or D3 will cause him to develop metabolic bone disease.

  3. I don't know a about the balanced formula. But I have read that when they are younger they need a fair amount of food. I would say have a dish in his cage full of mealworms that he can get at whenever he wants, like you would with the calcium powder dish.
