Question:

Leopard Gecko Growth?

I recently purchased a leo at the Reptile Super Show in San Diego and it was a Mack Super Snow or Super Mack Snow same thing.. and i payed 75 dollars for her because she had a slight mouth deformity(really small portion of her mouth was open on her right side no biggy..) and she was also marked as "Slow Growth". I talked to the breeder and he said she will grow perfectly fine but it will take a little longer than usual. So will my gecko be fine? The breeders name is Steve and his site is geckosetc.com , so im pretty sure he is legit. He was very friendly and a very cool guy to talk to i just wanted to make sure if my new leo will be ok.

  1. I used to sell reptiles and we never sold Leopards for more than $65, and that was at full growth.  Babies are anywhere from $20-$30.  It seems like this guy was trying to trick you by selling you a defective animal for more money.

  2. I don't understand if you consider paying $75 a discount because your leo is damaged or an extra fee because deformed mouths are a plus. I paid $25 for mine and there were others for $20. Mine is doing great. This was at a Reptile Show in South Florida. I'm suspicious of this slow grower thing. It sounds like an excuse to explain away poor health. I have no way of predicting how your leo will be in the future.

From the website of the salesman I see he is a fancy breeder.

$75 is his lowest price. I really don't know what to say.
