Leopard Gecko Help?

I own 2 leopard geckos and I need to get a light bulb for their lamp...I used to use a special UV light but they burn out to quickly......

Could I use a regular light bulb to provide adequate lighting? or should I invest in another special UV bulb?

What do you use? If a house bulb is okay to use...what watts...40 or 60???

Go to your local pet store and get one of them red bulbs...they arent that expensive and work too.

yes u can use a normal house bulb but its not recommended.

use one until u get another suggested one

Hey there, Leopard geckos are nocturnal and therefore do not need UV lighting. Who ever told you they do was most likely a pet store employee looking to make a sale. About the wattage of the bulb it all depends on the size of your tank, with two I'm guessing you use a 20g long so i would say a sixty watt house bulb  or a fifty watt spot lamp but it all depends on temperature and humidity variations in your house. I would recommend getting a probe thermometer to measure your temps. You can get them from any wal-mart, kroger or meijer location they are in the kitchen wares department. You can always get a 75watt spot lamp and a rheostat (dimmer switch) and turn the bulb on to the right temperature which is 90 degrees for the hot side and 75-77 for the cool side.
