Question:

Leopard Gecko question !?

I adopted my male leopard gecko, Ludwig (about 1 year old), from an owner who didn't really care for him, all she told me was that he was about a year old, and that she didn't want him anymore.

I've had him for about a week now, and he still has not eaten.

I've put crickets in there, and tried meal-worms.

I guess my question is what else should I try?

He doesn't look sick, he's very muscular and pretty heavy.

He's also pooing still..so I don't know what that means, but he hasn't eaten a thing.

Help?

  1. Yeah, fat tail = healthy leo.  If you put a leo in a new habitat, change it dramtically, or put it in a new environment it can easily stress it out a little bit and it's not uncommon at all for them to take at least a week to start eating.  When I first got mine it took her at least a week.

  2. if your gecko has a fat tail..your doing fine a fat tail means he is healthy.

all i can say is make sure the temperature is right (mine is consitently between 75 and 79 degrees F) also try  using tweasers to hand feed the lizard. thats what i do so he has to eat, however if he/she shys away from the food don't feed him. i also feed him about 3-5 crickets each night. the cricjets are the smaller ones that don't cheerp.

good luck and i hope your lizard isnt sick! i love animals and will cry when my dog or gecko dies!

you might also want to take him to a vet (if they help lizards)
