  1. A 30 gallon tank is more than enough.  My daughter volunteers at a local reptile rescue center and we ended up adopting 2 leopard geckos.  We keep them both in separate 20 gallon long tanks.  Just make sure you give him/her a nice safe place to hide.  They rarely ever bite, but don't generally like to "play".  You can take them out and handle them, but that's about it..that's why they're so popular.  They're low maintenance and easy going.  If you want something to play with, get a bearded dragon.  We have one of them too ans they are like the puppy dog of the reptile world!!  They crave attention and can even learn to walk on a leash (although my neighbors think I'm crazy when I do that).

  2. 10 gal tank can work.. but i say get a 20. they dont bite really... but if they do it wont hurt

  3. yeah 30 gallons will work

  4. I agree, although most any reptile can be acclimated to a leash (although I'm not sure it's needed). Also herps in general do not "play" like a dog or cat, but they are fun. If you've never had a reptile before, they are excellent starters and low maintenance.  That being said they are a little delicate compared to beardies (equally as hardy) but beardies need larger enclosures and are omnivores.

  5. playing with them stresses them out, but if you get them out regularly, then they will get used to you.  i get mine out every once in a while.  just make sure that two males never come in contact with each other or they will rip each other to shreds ( that comes from experience by the way!) they sometimes bite if you really make them mad, but it doesn't hurt much, and i have never bled from a bite.  its just like a slightly painful pinch, though the bigger the leopard gecko, the more painful the bite.  don't try to train your gecko, because it will not work. Ever.  and don't get them out for too long, because ive hade geckos p**p on me, and it is not pleasant
