Question:

Leopard gecko pest infestation

just got a small colony of leos brought them home moved some stuff around in there cage which i got with them and there is tiny bugs all over in there.they are visible to the eye.they are brown and when i reach to get one they hop away.Anyone know what they could be I live in minnesota if that matters at all.thanks

  1. So did you buy the cage second hand with the leos?

    Sounds as if Crickets are breeding inside the tank, which might be annoying at first, but save you alot of money in the long run.


  2. Could be baby crickets, but to be safe the easier and cheapest thing to do would be dump the substrate clean the cage and put new substrate in.  (without travel time to get substrate you are looking at 1/2 hour worth of work versus potential health problems later on) Baby crickets could chew on your leos if they have nothing else to eat and are very numerous.
