  1. For one, they have a thick layer of blubber to keep warm.

    They are longer and streamlined so they can dive quickly into the ocean and navigate through underwater iceburg caves.

    They have powerful, large jaws to enable them to catch prey - for example, one seal has been documented as eating a giant squid.

    They also have claws in order to grasp the ice for land movement.

    And, boy, they're scary looking.
