Manchester City’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joleon-Lescott-c18941 has asked the team’s fans to control their emotions this week and wait till after the game against QPR to let it all hang out.
City are currently sitting on top of the Premier League table, but the team needs to win their last game against QPR, to go on and be crowned the new Champions of England.
Despite the team seemingly being more then confident of getting the win in their last game, Lescott feels that the fans shouldn’t indulge in premature celebrations, since anything could happen on the last day of the season.
When talking about the upcoming game and just how important it is, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international is quoted to have said: “It's a massive game at the weekend. It's not all over yet but, if we could close the title out, it would be unreal.”
"You dream of these things. I never once thought: 'Yeah, I'm bound to win the Premier League.' But it was always in my mind. It will be crazy days if we win it. We've been nervous at times this season but we deserve to be up there.”
He then went on to ask the fans to keep quiet this week, as he added:
"I'd say to our fans, keep a lid on it this week and let's not get carried away. If it happens on Sunday, they can celebrate then.”
"It's in our hands but there's another vital game to go. When I first arrived here [from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 in 2009] it was more hope that we could win the league rather than real belief.”
The way things stand, the league is now City’s to throw away. The team is in poll position to end up as the English Champions after waiting over forty years to do so and its seems like the team won’t throw away the title just yet.
However, with QPR now desperate to pick up a point in the last game of the season to ensure their stay in the Premier League, just about anything could happen in the game, which is why it might actually be too early to predict who would win the league.
