Less hungery when you wake up?

How come when you wake up from a good night sleep your less hungry than staying up all night?

  1. You stomach sleeps while you do. So, it takes it a while to realize it is empty.


  2. This has to do with activity level...

    when you are asleep- you metabolism slows down- everything pretty much slows down... so you are not using as much energy- so when you wake up- your body is starting things off again at 'the normal pace'.

    But when you are awake-

    everything is continuing at the same pace- bodily functions including metabolism are still continuing at normal waking pace- so since you are staying up all night- your body is still running at normal speed.  Your metabolism is still going- you are using more than normal amount of energy since you haven't rested as well.  So... one bodily compensation is to get MORE food in there to keep things going ....

  3. Its natural because you have taken rest and not burnt more calories as you have done while you are awake and hence the system tell you that it is not that much hungry as it was while you were awake for most part of the night and burnt many calories which should be recouped.
