Question:

Lessening stretchmarks ?

Hey, I'm 27 weeks pregnant, and due to my expanding bump am sporting stretchmarks. Obviously, they're not going to disappear but it would be good to hear what products lessen them and help them fade quickly. Also anything that eases itching on the skin! :)

Just wondering what worked for you all here, any lotions that really worked etc?

Thanks!

  1. I used Palmers Cocoa butter for both times I was pregnant and I didn't get any stretch marks, and I had a big belly!  I slathered it on every night before bed.  Good luck!

  2. hey! try to get the natural stick of cocoa butter. also, they might be some natural black soap with cocoa butter in it, so you could bathe in that also. My friend used the natural cocoa butter stick, and ended up with just one little line on right under her belly button, which we only noticed because she made us go really close to look.

  3. i was using the palmers one but came out with a reaction, so i switched to a cheap oil called rescue oil from savers and its just like bio oil, and every night i also use vaseline cream with aloe vera to help with the itching..

  4. hey

i used palmers cocoa butter throughout my pregnacy and i only ended up getting  3 strechmarks at each side of my tummy once u have had your baby and your body gets back in shape u hardly notice them i forget i even have them

best of luck on the birth :)

    xxxxx

  5. I use Palmer's Cocoa Butter Cream.  It really does help combat the itching.

As for the stretch marks, I hate to tell you, but once they arrive, there's not too much you can do about them, but the cocoa butter should help your other symptoms.

  6. cocoa butter and vitamin k cream.

  7. I use johnson's baby oil and it seems to work for everything(itching, fading, etc.)

  8. Flower85 just did some research and cocoa butter doesnt have caffeine in it it does how ever have theobromine which is simular as caffeine but not as harsh.

go ahead use cocoa butter and shea butter. vitamin K E and olive oil are great for the skin. i have been using tea tree with olive oil body wash this pregnancy and i have yet to get a new stretch mark. plus i use shea/coca butter lotion 3 times a day.

  9. I used Johnson's baby oil when I was preggo with #1 and I def. got a lot less marks than I did with #2 when I used Palmer's. I put it on right after getting out of the shower, while my skin was still moist.

  10. Whatever you do don't use cocoa butter! I know it works great and everybody uses it, but studies are now showing that it contains a lot of caffeine and gets absorbed directly into the skin and into the placenta. It can cause birth defects and premature birth. My doctor told me not to use  it and gave me a pamphlet explaining the dangers. I found Curel Pregnancy lotion. It worked wonderful! It uses Shea Butter instead which is way more healthy for your baby! Good luck!!!!
