Lester Hudson scores 25 points as Cleveland Cavaliers defeat Charlotte Bobcats 103-90 -  NBA Recap
On Tuesday night at the Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH, the visiting Charlotte Bobcats lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 103-90.
Charlotte who fell to 7-49, hold the league’s worst record and have now lost 13 straight, currently the worst losing streak in the NBA.
Lester Hudson had a game-high 25 points, 14 of them coming in the last quarter, a career-best of eight rebounds, and six assists to lead the Cavaliers. Anthony Parker added 19 points; Antawn Jamison had 17 and Alonzo Gee contributed
13 points. Omri Casspi also came off the bench to add 12 points.
Gerald Henderson was the leading scorer for the Bobcats with 21 points. Bismack Biyombo contributed 12 points. Kemba Walker came off the bench to score 20 points while D.J.Augustin notched up a double-double with 16 points and
11 assists in the game, this was his sixth double-double of the season.
Cleveland out-rebounded the Bobcats 45-32, with 14 of them coming on the offensive glass. The other significant factor in the Cavs winning this one was the overall distribution of the ball as they shared the ball very well and
notched up 25 assists on the night. They shot the ball 57.9% from behind the three point line as they collected 33 points on 11 triples, Parker leading the way by shooting 4 of 6 from long range. Both teams shot the ball below 50% from the field as the matchup
was only decided in the final quarter of the game.
In the opening quarter of the game, the scores remained close with Cleveland only leading by 1, 23-22 with 2:01 remaining in the first. Cleveland then went on a 7-0 run to get ahead by 8 points after the opening 12 minutes.
Cavs held an upper hand throughout the second quarter as well as they led by as much as 9 points for the most part and were leading by the same margin with 1:27 to go in the half. Charlotte responded back, with Walker getting 5
quick points to chip the lead down to 4 at the halfway mark, Cleveland led 45-49.
Bobcats carried the same momentum in the second half as they rallied their way back to tie the scores at 51-each with 10:10 minutes remaining in the third. In the next several minutes, Charlotte added 5 more points to their account
while holding the Cavs scoreless to take the lead 56-51.
However this game was no way near to an end as the scores were all tied at the 2:27 mark and then again at the 1:35 mark in the third. However Hudson, who was coming off the bench, gave Cavs the lead 72-71 by getting his 11
points in the first three quarters.
In the final quarter of the game, the Bobcats regained the lead on the first possession, 73-72. However the hosts were not letting their home court advantage go to waste as they went on a 10-0 run to gain control over the matchup.
This run was further extended to 23-4 at the score of 95-77 with 5:09 remaining.
From then on it was no trouble for the Cavs, who had fielded a line up of 5 players who had never played together this season and still managed to outscore the Bobcats 31-19 in the fourth quarter as they rested most of their first
unit in the closing stages of the match.
