Why can't we organise for the Community Police to pick up litter as they wander the streets. This might give them a real sense of purpose and keep the streets clean at the same time.

  1. yes!! or! you could rub two of em together to make a fire. use them as draught excluders, use them as shade to stop your ice cream melting in the sun, get them to pose naked as you drop your brushes and run away laughting,  get them to stand there holding up newly planted shrubs.....they're quite handy when you think about it. (((another labour success.)))

  2. we should all do it too !

  3. Where I work the community support officers play a valuable role in the Police service.  They investigate minor crimes, assist with officers enquiries thereby freeing up those officers for more important jobs, preserve scenes of incidents and several other roles that mean that the regular officers can concentrate on more important issues.

Picking litter is the job of the Councils at present but if you ask me would be more suited to the criminals we are trying to put back in line.  Not someone who has taken on a role where they are helping the community as a whole.

  4. Here Here could not agree more get them to work whilst they walk

  5. Why doesn't the community not litter to begin with? Make people who are guilty of speeding or other traffic violations, pick up trash in lieu of a fine.

The community police are not there to pick up others' garbage but often find themselves raising everyone else's kids.

  6. Whu don't you pick up the litter? Oh, of course, it's not your job.

  7. Very good idea -  I'll second that!
