And let's suppose the person being chased is a professional driver operating a car faster than the police car.

How might the officer go about stopping this person?

My guess is they could have someone set up spike strips up the road.

Any other possibilities?

  1. There are only two ways to get away:

    1) You enter a jurisdiction that doesn't allow high speed pursuit.

    2) You're on a crotch rocket. You actually see them getting away on the news. The combination of acceleration and maneuverability, as far as fitting between tight spaces like between cars or in pedestrian only areas. They also can't PIT a bike.

  2. No matter how good you are, you can't outrun the radio.

  3. uh yeah haven't you seen cops? they have helicopters following the cars, news cameras, infrared, and usually just call more cops and put up spike strips or ram them off the road (a cop could join the chase and start off ahead of the person being chased.

  4. Can't out run Radio, no mater how fast your car is or good a driver you are, that radio beam is a faster MFer.

Spike strips, road blocks, gun barrage what ever.

  5. simple. back-up and road-blocks. you'll never catch the car because of its speed. communicate with your fellow officers.

  6. dont run from the police.

they will ALWAYS find you, one way or another.

    its just not worth it.

  7. I agree, the radio does you in. They can actually follow you until you run out of gas. Of course, if other people become endangered, they might just blow you away. You can't outrun the bullet.

  8. You might be able to outrun the cop, but you will never outrun the radio.

Edit: Hey, thats funny, the person above me said the same thing. Must be in the same line of work, lol!
