Let's try again, Is Tommy's Bar the best place in Vung Tau to drink a beer?

Quite simply NO!!!!

There are plenty of new bars that have opened up over the last 6 months or so and they are all pretty good. Some of the older places are falling from grace. But if anyone knows VT well they will know that the same bar very rarely has the same amount of customers two nights running. Everyone has their own favourite bar and the besy way to decide which is the best bar is to go to them all yourself and make your own decision. I presume that you are unaware that the former owner Alan passed away 1 year ago.

As for Minh Ngoc I think that is better left unsaid as my wife reads these posts sometimes :-)

If you are in Vietnam and are looking for the best place to do anything it probably wont have the word tommy in it, or any english word.  Vung Tau is getting to be a pretty big tourist place so maybe that is your kinda thing, but personally i find traveling to places and going to tourist place kinda lame.  best place to drink beer can be a cheap bia hoi place, but in my experience find a private party or wedding cheers
