Let Me Redeem myself?

Question

Anyways I posted a gibberish question earlier about my SC Finals prediction, and I’ve been out celebrating to clear my head a little, so I’ll repost what I originally meant.

I say that the Pens will win the Stanley Cup. I’m basing my decision on the soccer match today between the Red Devils and Blues, because that’s what I usually do, make predictions based on other sports.

My question was do you think the Pens have a chance to win?

And also soccer format for a tie is extra time and shootouts, and would you like to see that format be implemented in the nhl? If you want to make soccer is g*y comments, that’s fine as well.

My comment to Mike was how can you cheer for the blues. They always win everything, and fate is always on their side, and today luck was finally on Manchester’s side. I feel bad for John Terry’s slip and miss, and also for some of the Chelsea players (except for Didier Drogba), and thanks for the correction RIP to Lampards Mom because he’s a stand up guy.

The Pens do have a chance.  But it will be difficult, very difficult.  The Pens would have to step up there game.  the Wings are a complete TEAM, like no other in pro sports.  The Wings are so solid in all aspects; defense, offense, and one of the top goaltending tandems.  the way the Wings continue to win consistently is the fact that they secure the puck and try to keep possession as much as possible.  That is made possible by there talent and there willingness to play as a team, like no other team in the league.  Ever watch them in action? They are a special group that are determined to bring home the cup after a disappointing finish to last season.  There is no doubt they are the class of the NHL and a model for what/where the game is heading.  As for the European soccer championship today it was awesome.  Thankfully a close match.  I wish they would let them play to a sudden death, after all, it was the championship.  I would hate to see hockey go to that format (penalty kicks to decide the outcome)  The NHL should never do that in the playoffs.  The game is meant to be determined by playing it out, not by penalty shots/shootouts.  I can understand shootouts during the reg. season due to the long grind, but I still don't care for it.  It does bring a different dimension though for the average fan and allows to see some creativity and skill when you see a skater come in uncontested mano y mano and deke or shoot on the goalie.

I think the Pens can win it. They've been the best team in the playoffs, going by record.

As for the soccer format, I hate it. No shootout should ever see the playoffs, and if it does somebody will probably decide to have a shootout at the NHL head offices. Bad idea, but some players like it. Fresh legs and all that. I say score faster and you won't have that problem.

Yeah, Drogba sucks, what was with that crazy slap? But I still am feeling bad for Terry :( And Lampard too :( I'm probably going to have nightmares of Terry missing that kick tonight :(

No, I don't want to have such a long extra time period as in soccer. 30 mins. is waaay too long in my opinion. I like the NHL's format the way it is in the regular season (I just don't like the way points are awarded to teams for losing), and I like the system in the playoffs as well. I would not want to change a thing (except for giving SO/OT-losing teams 0 pts. in the reg. season).

I'm staying with the red theme on this one. Detroit will be skating around with the Cup above their heads in 5, maybe 6 games.

The only time I see Drogba dive is after he scores. Maybe someone should tell Sid that he doesn't have to emulate REAL penguins.....

BTW, you shouldn't be too hard on yourself for choosing Liverpool. Earlier in the season, I thought they could knock off Chelsea and Manchester United but I was wrong.

Which is becoming the norm in all the sports I try to predict.

Every team in the playoffs has a chance at winning it all.The Pens just have a better chance then most other teams.It's gonna be really hard going against the best team in the league but this is kinda like the OHL's Kintencher vs. Bevelle.We'll just have to see how it all goes down.
