Let down??

Question

So I've been working hard this and last quarter of school to get perfect grades, do well in my volleyball, and I've been working around the house, just to win a chance from my parents to go to disney world. but then I come home and my mom goes "surprise! we're going to texas!" and my heart totally breaks. I mean, I'm not ungrateful or anything, it just sucks to work for nothing. how can I get over this total let down? I feel like I've wasted my time

*I'm not ungrateful- it's great to leave the house and all, but... you get what I mean

even if u arent going to disneyland, its still not a waste of time, dont u feel u accomplished something big by getting perfect grades? and i would be happy to go to texas, i dont think my family is even going anywhere this summer
