Question:

Let kitty "clean" my ears?

I recently adopted a kitten (13 weeks old now) and she sleeps with me in bed each night. She likes to bite my nose, l**k my face, and curl around my neck. The only problem is that she persistently tries l*****g the inside of my ears. I think she is trying to groom me, because she does the same to another kitten in our home.

For the past three weeks we've been taking them to the vet to get rid of their mites, worms, and fleas. I think they are healthy now, so is it safe for me to allow the kitty to clean my ears? Is it safe for her, since human earwax might be different than kitty ear wax?

  1. I would not let her do that because cats are curious creatures and maybe one day she'll get into something gross. Plus if the other cat every has an infection it can be passed over and vice versa. The inside of the ear is very sensitive.

Your cat might like the wax! they are weird sometimes. If you really want to please her you can let her l**k your q tip?

  2. dont sweat it, shes grooming you, shes taking care of you like your one of her own.shes doing what comes natual. she will be a good mommy.

  3. I don't think it's seriously dangerous, but both of you are exchanging germs and bacteria. If one of you has an open sore, the other could become very ill. I think it's best to not overdo it? My grandma had a cat that used to like to clean my hair when i was younger lol. She did it for about 30-60min straight. I needed to shower after that haha.
