Let me rephrase a question I asked earlier. have you ever seen an nice american car done wrong by some fool?

A guy I used to work with had a 2002 Mustang convertible. It was a V6 and automatic. He had the nerve to put lambo doors on, 20 inch rims, the biggest body kit I ever seen. And on top of that two fat dual exhausts installed (no engine work at all) clear taillights and a decal on the windshield that said Strictly Stangs. He also had the nerve to drive it like it was the fastest car out there. Oh yea and had his rap music so loud. Me and the other guys thought it was a complete joke.

Now if you have something you like to share similar I would like to know. I need a good laugh now. And I apologize for the last question, some people took it the wrong way.

How about a '72 Coupe Deville on 26" rims and tires that look like rubber bands? It's painted bright green with gold trim and a gold vinyl top. They somehow lifted it to put the big wheels and tires on it. It's got the loud stereo too. Or, a '96 or so Jeep Cherokee on about 24's with those short tires, and the boom box to go with it. It's purple with the giant metal flakes in it like bass boats have in their gelcoat. Somebody actually did that to a perfectly good 4x4 here. Those are just 2 of the ones I see every time I go into town. I could go on all night. I'd like to see that Cherokee try to go down some of the dirt roads out here after it rains.

I see them all the time.

Those GM products with four exhaust tips under the rear bumper. They come off the production line that way. But that just tells me that there are even educated fools. I don't know if it is just the engineers or are the buyers fooled with that look too.

Then the owners doll them up with all those go fast looking goodies. All show and no go.

I think the best one for foolish engineering is yet to come -

the new Camaro.

It already has me laughing!

I know I am old fashion, I don't care so much about how it looks as long as I can color it gone.

It's all a matter of taste, nobody can agree on whats right, that's why we have import racers, low riders,  rat rods, hotrods,  monster trucks and anything else in between... to each his own...

Oh definitely!!  There are so many around where I live its crazy.  like putting impalas (not that I think impalas are nice cars) on 22's and painting them lime green and having a sounds system that vibrates the ground.  I've also seen a lot of people trick out mustangs and just go way overboard like the person you described.   I just laugh at these people b/c they look completely idiotic, yet they think they are the sh**

Yesterday I just saw a new dodge charger with lambo doors.  Totally ridiculous!!!!  A Charger is more like a family car than anything.  I was at a gas station and i just stared and laughed.

Being a ford lightning owner I am very critical on owners who do stupid things to these amazing trucks.

For example I have seen a few with stupid camper shells...I've seen two with bed covers with a tuner style wing drilled into the cover. The stupidest was a lightning with a brush gaurd on the front, mudflaps, oh yeah and a 4'' lift...

I also know a guy with a mustang similar to the one you described...2001 V6...blacked out headlights, clear tail lights. Not to mention he had the car repainted to that mystic paint...simiilar to the paint on the late 90's cobra mustangs. It is light colors in the heat and dark colors when it is cool constantly changing but usually between pink, lime green, green blue, a deep pinkish, to purple. I've only seen it be a very cool Dark Blue when it was about 40 degrees outside. He also went to the trouble to install headers and dual exhaust and one of those eletric turbos...no other performance mods...just a terrible looking wing and some mustang cobra wheels(the best part of the car). If you ask him its the fastest car on the road.
