Leta Lindley decides to call it a quit
Having seen so much in her golf career, Leta Lindley has decided to pay more attention to her personal life rather than shooting balls on the course.
American Lindley has spent 18 years in professional golf and saw her first LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) triumph in the 2008 season.
She played amazingly well and grabbed a title at the LPGA Corning Classic. However, Lindley had decided to quit pro golf and this Kia Classic is her last event.
Fans have advised her not to call it quits, but she is keen to focus more on her personal issues that have been keeping her busy for a long time now.
The reason behind so much support and appreciation for the American prodigy is that she has been a superstar for most of the golf fans.
Lindley recently spoke to the media and shared her feelings about what she is planning to do after quitting.
She said that the only thing she has on her mind right now is Kia Classic. Fans have already pinned hopes on the star, predicting that she will do her best this time again.
When asked how she likes to play in her hometown, Lindley said she has been looking forward to shine at her hometown, as her fans have been waiting to see her last game.
She said that playing among big names has always helped her improve her game.
“In my 18-year career I've only been able to play in my hometown twice now, so this week is going to be pretty special. This is my last season on the LPGA Tour, and I'm happy to make one more stop in the area,” she said earlier.
When asked how she feels when she receives support from her home crowd and family, she said that, since her husband had been her caddie for a long time, it never felt like she was playing away from her family.
Prior to the event, she had said that her husband will not carry her bag this time.
“The kids frequently travelled with us, but we promised we wouldn't both be away from them at the same time anymore,” she said.
“My husband is home with the kids — they travel with us during the summer, but not during the school year — and I'm travelling by myself for the first time in a while”.
