She attempts to say shes sorry and he keeps the argument going.....Is she the only one at fault? Does she need to make another attempt to apologize because she disrespected the "man of the family"? Or should it work both ways? I mean, does being older or being a man give you the right to disrespect someone and it be okay? I understand "respect your elders", but I always felt that you have to give respect to get respect. Disrespect me and I will do it back.

  1. Before marrying anyone it is best to determine that he or she is an orphan.

  2. It doesn't matter who he is, you are the an adult just as he is. Do not let him disrespect you like that. You have a right to stand up and speak on your behalf. Actually, your hubby should be correcting him. Just ignore him if he continues. Or you could do what I do...kill them with kindess...That will p**s them off even more.

  3. I would take the fil aside and let him know that as the ELDEST he is responsible for the well being of the family and should NOT make others take sides..., and as the eldest he is expected to KNOW that HE is NOT THE most important person ON the planet.... juuuust ONE of them.

  4. Do you want to be right or do you want to get along with the old f**t?

  5. I dont think that the fact thats hes the man of the house, or older gives him the right to disrespect you. I happen to have a very rude soon to be mother in law, who I truly cannot bare. I have had only one argument with her, and I did not apologise at all. I simply left time to heal the bridges and avoided her like the plague for a month or so! You have tried to apologise, I would leave it to him now as you have done your bit. Dont back down, you tried.

  6. Apologize once then go through the rest of it like it never happened...in laws are very difficult !!!!!!!!!
