Question:

Letter to the editor help?

I wanted to write a letter to the editor, but I need a little help.

Last weekend was the local parade. An old fire truck from 1926 won "best truck". The old fire chief that fixed it up did a fantastic job. My issue is that there was no mention of the man that donated the truck to him... my grandfather. I know that my grandfather was mentioned in person at the ceremony, because I was there. I guess I was a little sad that he wasnt mentioned in the article, and thats what I wanted to write to the editor about. I am not wanting to rant and rave, just give my gramps the recognition I think he deserves...

Can anyone help me think of something nice to say, without stealing the fire chiefs thunder?

Here's a like to the article if your interested:

  1. Get to the point quickly and get out. Something like ...

"I was disappointed that the story on the parade failed to mention the donor of the vehicle that won the award for Best Truck. Blank Blank was that person. He was cited in the ceremony. The truck came from ..."

You can't get everything in a story like that, but the letter might help.
