Lettering Sign catching fire safely for performance?

Question

Ok this is sorta hard to explain... but we are doing a youth leadership conference and we are trying to do this thing where we have this sign of some sort that has our theme spelled on it and then we want the letters to catch on fire... we need to know how this is done... is there some sort of fabric or canvas you can buy or are there companies that can help us with this? PLEASE help! I don't know how else to explain it except that the letters catch on fire thanks!!!
