Letters to Italy?

We wrote a letter to somebody, but that person doestn live at that adress anymore. (i think, because we got the letter back)

They send us the letter back, but they wrote something on the front of the envelope, which i cant read. They also put a big X through the adress. What is it that you write on the envelope when you want the post to returned?

Thank you!

They wrote something, but i cant read the handwriting! All i can figure out is that they wrote the date too! But the other things they wrote, i cant read any of it!

  1. I am supposing they wrote something like:

    indirizzo inesistente/sconosciuto = nonexistent address

    or

    destinatario sconosciuto = addresee unknown

The first note means that the address was incorrect (maybe mispelled?). The second means that the person/family/company you addressed the letter to no longer lives at that address or couldn't be found listed at that particular address.

Check and see if either one of the sentences I gave you matches what the postman wrote on your returned letter.

  2. well, i'm italian.. if you write what is written i could translate.. =p

    ciao..!
