This happens time and again...Using Tippex just gives the keys a sticky feel, and quite often the keyboard is perfectly fine...except I need to see what I'm typing! Any ideas??? (Apart from learn where the letters are!)

  1. Don't be dumb, if your such a cheapskate all you have to do is write the letters on sticky paper or masking tape and stick them on.

  2. Buy a new keyboard and by a decent one preferably where the letters light up and aren't just painted on in the first place!

Then you won't have to worry about it happening again.

  3. try writing letters on the front faces of the keys, so that your fingers dont touch em. it will be a bit fiddly.

Alternatively, buy a better brand of keyboard.

  4. You can buy a keyboard cover from eBay which might protect the lettering a bit - I bought one after destroying a laptop with a cuppa.

I think you will find it well worth learning to touch type as well though - it doesn't take that long - someone taught me in a week and I could type at a fair speed at the end of it.

  5. Hi lol I had to unfortunalty memorise where the keys were lol as all the other key boards were black with white letters and they wear off as well as being too dark to see in s dim light lol so I had to learn to type in the dark, but everyone else used to stuggle to see them, lol we went to a computer shops to see if they did any white/grey key boards as no where else does as there all black to go with the computers that are black nowadays I got one for £4.95 and its great to be able to see the keys again even thought I know where they are now lol, I cannot believe how hard it was to find a key board like the old ones, but Ive got one now lol, The thing is why do they wear off letter wear off the black key boards anyways as for one thing they never wear off the white/grey ones so why do they wear off on the black ones, I dont know what schools do the amount computers get used there as there will be no letter on any of them, whereas the old white key boards lasted for ages.

  6. It's happened to me! I've lost the letter "T" The "N" has almost disappeared and part of the "A" and "H" is starting to go so I assume they are letters used the most when writing text.

  7. paste the letters & paint them with a transparent coat of nail polish or jst buy another keyboard

if u dnt have any probs then u can also use virtual keyboard

  8. Get Little Square Sticky Notes And Write The Numbers/Letters On The Stick Them On The Keys!

Alternatly.. Buy A New Keyboard... Ive Had Mine 7 Years And I Use My PC A Lot! No Letters Or Numbers Have Even Started To Wear Off!

  9. I've got the same problem but i bought my last keyboard from tesco it was only a fiver so that's probs why the letters are rubbing off.

But you can by them so cheap now it's not worth wasting time to be honest.

  10. Go to Tescos and buy a cheap new one.  They only cost a couple of quid so you can afford to replace them often.

  11. Its something that happens over time. i suggest jus get a new keyboard! They are pretty cheap. Then make sure you have clean hands when you use it! Greasy hands help the letters come off

  12. get vista~use the speech recognition software included~talk to your PC.

no need to touch your keyboard.

    hope this helps.
