Letting new parakeet out of cage?

Hi! I just got a new parakeet 3 days ago... It is still nervous. I have been hearing people say to let it out of its cage at least once a day??? Is that true.

If so... can i let it out of its cage without being finger trained? I also heard that you can finger train it out of its cage?

Please answer all of my questions, as I am a new parakeet owner... thank you!

I let mine have an open door policy to his cage just shut it at night and he came to me when he was ready he really didn't leave his cage even with the door open except to hang out and say hello

let the him settle in his new enironment for a time (a week) then u can start to feed him out the palm of your hand to earn him trust then soon after that he will start to come to u when u let him out his cage, also you can finger train them in or out their cage, good luck!
