Letting out a spare room?

i have a spare room in my flat i want to rent out, where's the best place to advertise? i dont want to use a letting agent.

You can just put up flyers at the nearest school and grocery store. Put a sign in the window.

Depends what sort of a tenant you're looking to attract.

If you're looking for a student, then try advertising at your local college or university.

If you're looking for a professional, then Gumtree could be good, or otherwise Loot.  There are also a number of specific London-based sites if you're in London.

Also, you could try the notice board at your local supermarket or church - this might help in attracting someone older.
